What is an Account Owner?
The account owner is the person responsible for the overall management of your BoardPro account, including subscription and billing decisions.

They are identified by an Account owner label in the People list of your main board account.

The account owner must:

  • have login access to BoardPro

  • hold one of the following roles: Administrator, Chair, or Board Secretary

  • not necessarily be a board member

πŸ’‘ Good to know
The account owner is not automatically the billing contact, but the two are often the same person. If the account owner changes, please reach out to Support to update the billing contact details on file.

What can the account owner do?

The account owner is responsible for:

  • managing subscription changes

  • overseeing billing and invoices

  • transferring account ownership

  • acting as the primary point of contact for BoardPro

πŸ” Access matters
Only the account owner can transfer ownership to someone else.

How to change the account owner

Only the current account owner can assign a new one.

  1. Go to People from the left-hand navigation

  2. Find the person you want to make the new account owner

  3. Select the three dots next to their name

  4. Click Make account owner

  5. In the confirmation window, type Transfer and select Transfer

Ownership is transferred immediately.

If the current account owner has left

If the existing account owner is no longer available or has left your organisation, contact BoardPro Support and we’ll help update this for you.
