Note: Closed interests continue to appear on the Interest Register Report for 50 days after their closure date.
To close an interest, open the Interest Register from the left-hand navigation.
Users can close their own interests.
Administrators, Board Secretaries, or Chairs can close an interest for any user on the People list by editing the interest and adding an end date.
To edit an interest:
Click the three dots next to the interest.
In the window that opens, use the End Date field to select the date the interest ended.
Use the calendar or navigation arrows to select a past or future date.
If you select a date in the past, the interest is moved to Past Interests, where it can be reopened or edited if required.
If you select a future date, the interest remains in Current Interests until the end date is reached.
Note:
Deleting an interest permanently removes it from the register and should only be used to remove duplicate or incorrect entries.
Closing an interest moves it to Past Interests, where it remains available as part of your organisation's records. Retaining closed interests may help meet record-keeping requirements, including obligations under the Companies Act.
If an interest needs to be removed immediately, it must be deleted rather than closed.
