You can find the boards' main interests register by on the main navigation bar and select the Interests option.

Overview of the Interests Register

The Interests Register in BoardPro helps boards record and manage declared interests. It supports transparency by tracking potential conflicts of interest in one central place.

Administrators, Board Secretaries, and Chairs can add and manage interests and include the register in meeting agendas.

To add a new interest, click + Add New Interest.

Note: Anyone listed in the People tab can add their own interests, except users with Executive or Guest access roles.

When the pop-up window opens, enter the following details:

1. Name -For people listed in the People tab, add their name in one of the following ways:

  • Start typing the person’s name in the field and select from the list.

  • Click the dropdown arrow and choose from the available options.

  • If the person is not listed in the People tab, select Add someone not in the list, then enter their name.

2. Organisation: Enter the organisation the interest relates to.

3. Nature of the interest: Provide a brief description of the interest.

4. Date disclosed: Enter the date the interest was disclosed to the organisation.

The current date is added automatically when you open the Add New Interest window. To change it, click the calendar icon and select a different date.

Special Feature: Add the Interests Register to the agenda

The Interests Register can be added to your agenda as a Smart Agenda Item. This automatically displays declared interests from the register within the meeting agenda.

Smart Agenda Items pull information from other areas of your account into the agenda. Adding the Interests Register ensures declared interests are visible and can be acknowledged during the meeting.

If the item is not already on your agenda, you can add it by selecting Smart Agenda Item: Interest Register.
