You can find the boards' main interests register by on the main navigation bar and select the Interests option.
Overview of the Interests Register
The Interests Register in BoardPro is a tool designed to organise and manage the declarations and interests of the board. The register ensures transparency by keeping track of any potential conflicts of interest.
Administrators (anyone with 'Administrator, Board Secretary or Chair' acces role) on the board can both add entries to the register and manage this item in meeting agendas.
To add an Interest, click on the +Add New Interest button.
Note: Everyone with login access on your People List can add their own interests, except for those with the Executive or Guest access roles.
In the pop-up dialogue box that opens, you will need to include the following:
1. Name of the board member/officer with the interest. There are two ways to add a name:
Select a Person in the Organisation. You can select a name by either starting to type their name in the text field or by using the arrow on the drop-down menu. (Note: person must be listed on the People page)
2. Enter the organisation they have an interest with.
3. Explain the nature of the interest.
4. The date this was disclosed to the organisation. -The date is automatically listed for the date that you open the "Add a new interest" box; to change this date, click on the calendar to update date if needed.
Special Feature: Adding the Interests Register to the Meeting Agenda
The Interest Register will automatically include the boards interests into a dedicated 'smart' agenda item on the agenda. Smart agenda items automatically pull information from other areas of the account into the agenda. This item ensures the boards declarations from the main register are visible on the agenda and acknowledged during meeting discussions. If you do not see this on your agenda you can add it in Smart Agenda Item : Interest Register.
