FAQs About People in BoardPro

Common questions about managing people in BoardPro

Written by Mike Patterson

How can I tell if a board member has accepted their invitation?

On the People page in BoardPro, you can see who has login access.

If a board member has login access, they have accepted the invitation and completed their registration.

People without login access have not yet completed or received their invitation.

How can I help a board member who has forgotten their password?

The BoardPro login page includes a password reset option.

  1. Click Forgot password?

  2. Enter the email address linked to the BoardPro account.

A password reset email will be sent to the user.

For detailed instructions, see the related article: How to reset your forgotten password.

How can I change the name of a board member?

There are two ways to update a person’s name in BoardPro.

Administrators, Board Secretaries, or Chairs

  1. Go to People.

  2. Click the person’s name.

  3. Update their details in the pop-up window.

Individual board members

  1. Log in to BoardPro.

  2. Click My Account under your name in the top-right corner.

  3. Update your personal details.

Can I change someone's email address?

If the person has a status of Invitation Pending, an Administrator, Board Secretary, or Chair can update their email address.

  1. Open the person’s profile from the People page.

  2. Update the email address.

  3. Select Grant Access to resend the invitation.

If the person already has login access, they must update their own email address from their profile settings.

Note:
Users with login access must change their own email address.

If the person no longer has access to their previous email address and cannot log in, they will need to be re-invited using their new email address.

An Administrator, Board Secretary, or Chair can:

  1. Add the person again using the new email address.

  2. Grant access to the new account.

  3. Remove the old account.

Important:
Historical records will remain linked to the original account, but current actions and responsibilities may need to be reassigned.
