Update an email address of someone with no login access

Updating the Email Address of a Pending Invitee

Written by Mike Patterson

If you are an Administrator, Board Secretary, or Chair, you can update the email address of someone in your organisation who does not have login access.

Update the email address

  • Go to People in the left-hand navigation.

  • Click the three-dot menu next to the person's name.

  • Select Edit from the dropdown menu.

  • In the pop-up window, scroll to the Email Address section and click the pencil icon.

  • Enter the new email address and provide a reason for the change.

  • Click Update Email to save the changes.

You can choose to send a new invitation immediately or invite the person later.

Changes to the email address are recorded in the People Change Log.

Resend an invitation

If needed, administrators can resend an invitation to the updated email address.

  • Go to People.

  • Click the three-dot menu next to the person's name.

  • Select Grant access.

This sends the invitation to the updated email address.

Important:

BoardPro works best when each person has their own unique email address. Using shared or role-based email addresses (such as treasurer@ or president@) can create challenges when roles change, multiple people need access, or historical records need to be maintained.

If your organisation chooses to use a shared email address, we recommend having a clear process for managing access and updating account details whenever responsibilities change.

Note:

  • If the person can log in to BoardPro, they can update their own email address through My Settings under their profile menu.

  • Alternatively, the user or the organisation’s Account Owner can contact BoardPro support using the blue chat icon to connect with the Customer Success team.
