The BoardPro mobile app is available on iPhone, iPad and Android. What you can do in the app depends on your BoardPro plan and your role – see Who can use the app below.
Note: For the best experience, ensure that you are using a supported device with the latest version of your operating system and web browser. Keeping your software up to date helps ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features and security updates.
What the app does
The BoardPro mobile app is a companion app for board members. It gives you the parts of BoardPro you need before and between meetings, on the device you already have with you.
In the app you can:
Read your board pack, and annotate it as you read
Make packs available offline, so you can read on a flight or anywhere without a connection
Compare a republished pack against the version you already read
Browse your organisation's governance documents
View and update the actions assigned to you
Admin work – building agendas, publishing packs, requesting signatures, managing people – stays in BoardPro on the web.
Before you start
The app is a separate download. It is not an update to the BoardPro Notes app.
Open the App Store (iPhone or iPad) or Google Play (Android).
Search for BoardPro.
Install the app.
Open the app and sign in with the same email address and password you use for BoardPro on the web.
If your organisation uses multi-factor authentication, you will be prompted for it in the same way as on the web.
Board packs
The Board Packs tab lists the packs available to you. If you sit on more than one board or committee, use the board switcher to move between them.
Open a pack to read it. From the reading view you can:
Move between documents in the pack
Annotate as you read – your annotations are private to you
View previous versions of the pack
Use the Diff tool to see what changed between versions
Annotation and the Diff tool are available on the Premium and Ultimate plans. When a pack is republished, you are notified that a newer version is available, and your annotations are carried onto it. This includes annotations you made or deleted while offline – they sync when you reconnect.
Note: The annotation tools are not available on previous versions of a pack. Annotating happens on the current version.
Offline access
You choose which packs to keep on your device.
Mark a pack as available offline, and it stays available until you turn it off. Signing out does not remove it.
If a pack you have marked offline is republished, the new version is downloaded automatically.
While you are offline you can turn offline access off for a pack, but you cannot turn it on for a new one – that preference needs a connection to sync. You will see a "no internet connection" message.
Annotations you make offline sync when you are back online.
Documents
The Documents tab lets you browse your organisation's governance repository — folders, files, and file versions.
The app is read-focused here. Tap the menu on a folder or file to:
Copy Link (folders and files)
Download and Versions (files)
Administrative actions such as restricting access or requesting signatures remain on the web.
Documents awaiting your signature show a signature status badge. You can open and read them in the app, but signing is done in BoardPro on the web – see Signing documents in the FAQs.
If a board pack links to a governance document, tapping that link opens the document inside the app rather than sending you to a browser.
Actions
The Actions tab shows the actions assigned to you. You can:
Filter the list by status
Open an action to see its detail
Change its status
Add an update
Action reminder emails link straight to the action in the app.
AI Assistant
Board members can ask questions about their organisation's content and get answers drawn from the board packs and governance documents they already have access to.
Sources
Answers cite the board packs and documents they drew from, so members can see which material informed a response.
Continuity with web
Chat history syncs with the web app. A conversation started at a desk can be picked up on a phone, and vice versa.
Signing in and security
Sign in with your BoardPro email and password, including MFA if your organisation uses it.
Settings and switching organisations
If you belong to more than one organisation in BoardPro, you can switch between them from Settings. Your app settings apply across all of your organisations.
Settings also gives you access to help articles, in-app chat with our support team, and sign out.
Who can use the app

Plans. Board pack viewing, including offline, is available on all plans. AI Assistant, Annotation and the Diff tool are available on Premium and Ultimate.
Moving across from BoardPro Notes
If you currently use the BoardPro Notes iOS app, The BoardPro mobile app replaces it. It is a separate download, not an update – you will need to install it from the App Store.
BoardPro Notes will continue to work for now. We will let you know well in advance before it is retired, and it will stay available until then.
