Getting started
Is this an update to the BoardPro Notes app?
No. The BoardPro mobile app is a new app, rebuilt from scratch for both iPhone/iPad and Android. It is a separate download from the App Store or Google Play.
Which devices does it work on?
The app supports phones and tablets on both iOS and Android.
I use BoardPro for more than one organisation. Does the app handle that?
Yes. You can switch organisations by tapping the organisation icon in the top left of the app.
When will BoardPro Notes stop working?
BoardPro Notes will continue to work for now. We will give you plenty of notice before it is retired.
Board packs and annotations
Who can see my annotations?
Your annotations are private to you. No other user – including Administrators, Chairs, Board Secretaries and BoardPro staff – can see them.
A new version of the pack has been published. Do my annotations carry over?
Yes. You are notified that a new version is available and your annotations are carried onto it, including any you made or deleted while offline.
Can I annotate a previous version of a pack?
No. The annotation tools only appear on the current version. You can still read previous versions and use the Diff tool to compare them.
Can I annotate on the Essential plan?
No, you cannot annotate on the Essential plan.
Do my annotations sync with what I see on the web?
Yes, annotations sync between the desktop version and the mobile app.
Offline access
How do I make a pack available offline?
Mark the pack as available offline from the board pack list. It stays on your device until you turn it off – signing out does not remove it.
Do I have to re-download a pack when it is republished?
No. If you have marked a pack as available offline, new versions of that pack are downloaded automatically.
Can I make a new pack available offline while I have no connection?
No. Turning offline access on needs a connection so the preference can sync. You will see a "no internet connection" message. You can turn offline access off for a pack while offline.
Documents and signing
Can I browse our governance documents in the app?
Yes. The Documents tab shows your organisation's folders, files, and file versions.
Can I search for a document?
Yes, you can search for governance documents.
Can I sign documents in the app?
Not in this first release. Documents awaiting your signature are visible and badged, and you can read them in the app. To sign, open BoardPro in a browser on your computer.
Can I download a document?
Yes, from the file menu in the Documents tab.
Actions
What can I do with my actions in the app?
You can see the actions assigned to you, filter them by status, open an action for detail, change its status, and add an update.
Will I get a notification when an action is due?
Not in the app. The app does not send push notifications in this release. You will continue to receive action reminder emails, and those link straight into the action in the app.
Access and roles
Why can't I see the Board Packs or Documents tabs?
If your role in BoardPro is Executive or Guest, the app shows you Actions and Settings only. This matches the access you have on the web.
Can administrators build agendas or publish packs from the app?
No. The app covers the board member workflow. Administrative work stays on BoardPro on the web. Administrators can use the app for their own reading, annotating, and actions.
Security
How do I sign in?
With the same email address and password you use on the web, including multi-factor authentication if your organisation uses it.
Can I use Face ID or a fingerprint?
Biometric sign-in is available if your device has biometrics enabled at the operating system level. The app uses whichever method your device provides and never sees your biometric data.
