What is a committee licence?
A committee licence in BoardPro allows you to create and manage committees within your board account. Each committee requires one licence, and the number of licences in your subscription determines how many committees you can manage.
You can purchase additional licences through the "Manage Licences" option if you need to add additional committees. Licences are billed pro-rata, so you only pay when they are active until your next billing cycle. You can also adjust your licences by deleting unused committees.
Buying additional committee licences
To increase the number of committee licences in your subscription, click the "Manage Licences" button.
Select the number of licences you’d like to add. The updated number of licences will be displayed. Once you're ready, click the "Next" button to proceed.
You will be taken to the payment screen, where you can see the amount due today (pro-rated) and your updated subscription cost for the next billing cycle. When ready, click the "Confirm Payment" button to complete the process.
Your subscription will be updated, and the payment method on file will be charged. The updated committee licence information will appear at the top of the Committees page.
Talk to Sales
Customers purchasing three or more committee licences may be eligible for a discount. The "Talk to Sales" option will allow you to schedule a time with a sales person. This option will close the licence dialogue without adding or charging your subscription.
Reducing the number of committee licences
You can reduce the number of committee licences on your subscription, but only if unused licences are available. If all licences are in use, you must first delete an existing committee you no longer need to free up a licence. Once ready, click the "Manage Licences" button, adjust the number of licences, and click "Next" to proceed.
Clicking the "Next" button will take you to the subscription update dialogue. This is where you’ll see a preview of your updated subscription, including the amount due in the next billing cycle. When ready, click the "Confirm" button to finalise the changes.
Available unused Committee Licence
If you have unused committee licences, creating a committee is simple. Click the "Create New" option to open the Create Committee dialogue, then give your committee a name and click the "Create" button.
Once your committee is created, it will appear in the list of Active Committees. You can start by importing people from the parent Board if applicable.
Managing Licence for the New Committee
When creating a new committee, you may see a committee licence option. This happens if your subscription doesn’t have enough unused committee licences. In this case, clicking the "Create" button will display the payment dialogue.
Like the add committee licence process, you’ll see the pro-rata charge due today. Click the "Confirm Payment" button to update your subscription, which will charge the payment method on file. This dialogue will also preview your subscription cost for the next billing cycle.
Try for Free
If you're unfamiliar with BoardPro's committee function and want to try it out, click the "Try for Free" button. This will postpone the subscription update, and you won't be charged. However, the update to your subscription is not automatic, and a warning message will appear at the top of the Committees page to remind you to add more licences when you're ready.
Once ready, you can update your subscription by adding more licences to ensure uninterrupted use of your new committee. Clicking the "Add more licences" option on the warning banner will automatically select the correct number of licences to include in your subscription.
This dialogue will show you the pro-rata charge due today and a preview of your subscription for the next billing cycle. When ready, click the "Confirm Payment" button to update your subscription. A "Talk to Sales" option may also appear if you add three or more committees.
