BoardPro's Interests Register Smart Agenda Item helps manage and track directors' and officers' interests, including actual, potential, or perceived conflicts.
BoardPro automatically includes the Interests Register in the Board Pack and in our best-practice agenda template to ensure best practice. This allows all members to easily review the declared interests of other members and their own.
Adding the Interests Register to the Agenda
If you can’t see the Interests Register in your agenda, add it by clicking the + Agenda Item button located at the bottom of any section of the agenda.
Why is the Interests Register option greyed out in the agenda menu?
If the Interests Register option appears greyed out in the Add Agenda Item menu, it means the item is already included in the agenda. Only agenda items that have not yet been added will remain selectable.
If your board prefers a different name for the Interests Register, you can rename it by clicking on the agenda item title in the detail panel.
Why can't I find the Interest Register in the Agenda?
The Smart Agenda item -Interest Register may have been renamed. No matter what name you give the item, hovering over the Smart Agenda Item icon will reveal its original function (e.g. Interests Register), so you always know what it is.
How to Add or Edit an Interest in the Agenda
You can add or edit interests when the meeting is in the “Draft Agenda” or “Draft Minutes” stage:
Click on the “Interests Register” agenda item.
To edit an existing interest, click the pencil icon next to it. If the end notification date is known, you can also add it.
To Add an Interest click the blue Add Interest button.
If your board pack is already published, remember to republish the agenda after adding or editing an interest to reflect these updates.
Note:
Once the Board Pack is generated, all interests listed in the Interests Register agenda item will be automatically included.
Any interests added or edited before, during, or after the meeting will be automatically updated on the Interests Register page.
The Recently Closed section is visible only in the published Board Pack version of the Interests Register. You will not see this section when editing the agenda, and publishing (or republishing) the agenda is required to view it.
Always republish the agenda to ensure that updates—such as new interests or edits to existing entries—are reflected in the Board Pack.
