How to add a formal vote to the agenda

Voting is a feature of the Premium and Ultimate Plans.

When you wish to add a formal vote, BoardPro provides a Smart Agenda item to help organise your voting procedure.

Add a Vote Agenda Item

  1. In the section where you want to add the vote, click + Agenda Item.

  2. Select Vote.

Vote Agenda Item Elements

There are specific core elements of a voting agenda item.

Motion: Enter the motion in advance. When the vote is recorded in the Minutes, the motion is copied there for quick editing as the basis for the resolution.

Selecting voters: BoardPro automatically selects all people in your organisation with the Board Member option enabled. If a person does not have login access (showing Invitation Pending or No Access), an asterisk appears next to their name. A Help Vote will need to be added on their behalf when voting is open.

Anonymous voting: If selected, BoardPro records only the total count of votes for and against, without showing how individuals voted. If not selected (Open Vote, the default setting), BoardPro records how each person voted in the Minutes, including any reasons provided.

Supporting documents: Attach any relevant documents to include in the board pack.

Additional Information

Note: If comments are made while a Board Member is voting, they are not visible until the vote is closed and the decision has been made.
