Voting -Quorum is a feature of the Premium and Ultimate Plans. If your board subscribes to the Essentials Plan, you cannot vote.
What is a quorum?
A quorum is the minimum number of members of an organisation who must be present for a meeting to be legal or official.
Most legislation and or organisation constitutions set the number of members for meeting business to be conducted.
Please also feel free to read our blog post. Do we have a quorum?
In BoardPro, you can set this number in the form of a percentage amount on your Organisation settings page under your Quorum & Participation tab.
BoardPro automatically sets the number at 50% but, use the up and down arrows next to the number field to set the correct percentage number for your organisation.
β
Here is how you can calculate the correct percentage for your Organisation if you're unsure:
Confirm the total number of board members (e.g 15)
Confirm the minimum number required for quorum (e.g 8)
Divide the quorum number by the total number of members (8/15=0.533)
Multiply by 100 to get a percentage (0.533*100 =53.3%)
Round down to get a whole number (53%)
Depending on the Voting Automation tab percentage, if the quorum is not met, you will receive an alert above the Attendees list on the Meeting Details Page.
