Why Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is important
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires you to verify your identity using two or more authentication factors before accessing your account. It adds an extra layer of protection, helping to keep your BoardPro account secure.
MFA settings and your chosen verification method are unique to your account. If you change your email address, replace your phone, or want to use a different MFA method, you must update these settings yourself. Only you can enable or change your MFA settings.
Enable MFA
Access your security settings
After you login select your profile menu in the top-right corner and click Settings.
Select the Login & Security tab.
Choose your preferred MFA method:
Authenticator App (recommended)
Email Verification
Authenticator App (recommended)
Set up an authenticator app
Before you begin, install an authenticator app on your mobile device (for example, Microsoft Authenticator).
If you're new to authenticator apps, see Authenticator Apps (MFA).
Click Set Up beside Authenticator App.
Open your authenticator app and tap the + icon to add an account.
Scan the QR code displayed in BoardPro.
Enter the verification code generated by the authenticator app, then click Verify.
Once setup is complete, you'll return to the Login & Security tab where Enabled is displayed beside Authenticator App.
Note: If you change or replace your mobile device, you must manually update your authenticator app. Your MFA setup is linked to your current device.
This video demonstrates the complete setup process using the Authenticator App method.
Email Verification
Set up email verification
Click Set Up beside Email Verification.
A message will remind you that you'll need to retrieve a verification code from your email each time you sign in. Click Enable to confirm.
Once enabled, Enabled will appear beside Email Verification.
Tip: Log out and sign back in to confirm you receive the verification code. If you don't receive it, check your Spam or Junk folder. If you still need assistance, contact Support using live chat.
How to tell who has enabled MFA
The People List page displays an MFA label beside users in your organisation who have MFA enabled.
Changing devices or email addresses
Update your MFA settings
Important: If you change your phone or email address, update your MFA settings before removing access to your old device or email. Otherwise, you may be locked out of your account.
