Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) keeps your BoardPro account secure by requiring a unique code each time you log in. You are the only person who can change the MFA settings for your personal account in BoardPro.
This article explains what to do if you become locked out of your account, lose your phone, change devices, or need to switch or disable MFA.
Locked Out, Switched, or Lost Phone
If you lose access to your authenticator app or change phones, don’t worry — here’s what to do:
If you’re locked out, please ask your Account Owner or Board Chair to contact our support team (via live chat or email support@boardpro.com) on your behalf. We’ll verify the request and disable MFA for your account.
Note: If you plan to re-enable your MFA, please make sure that you thoroughly remove the BoardPro entry from your authenticator app first, then set it up again from scratch.
Quick Tips:
Keep a backup authentication option if possible — for example, switch to Email Verification before changing devices.
Before changing phones, transfer your authenticator app to your new device to keep access to your account..
If you get locked out, ask your Account Owner or Board Chair to contact us — we’ll help you get back in quickly.
Switch MFA Methods
You can switch to a different MFA method at any time:
Click Switch next to your preferred authentication method.
Follow the setup steps as outlined above to complete the change.
Disable MFA
To disable MFA:
Click Remove next to the enabled method.
Once MFA is disabled, there will be no Enabled label next to either method.
Note: Disabling MFA in BoardPro does not automatically remove the BoardPro account from your authenticator app. To fully remove it, open your authenticator app on your phone and manually delete the BoardPro entry.
