Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) protects your BoardPro account by requiring a unique code each time you log in. Only you can manage your own MFA settings in BoardPro.
This guide explains common reasons for being locked out and shows what to do to recover access, switch methods, or disable MFA.
🔑 Common Reasons for MFA Lockouts
Lost or Replaced Device
If you lose or replace your phone without transferring your MFA method (e.g., authenticator app or SMS), you will be unable to complete the authentication step.
Uninstalled or Reset Authenticator App
Removing or resetting your authenticator app without reconfiguring MFA can result in lockout.
Primary Email Change
If you switch to a new email address but haven’t updated MFA settings accordingly, the system will still send MFA verification codes to your old email — one you no longer have access to.
🚨What to Do If You’re Locked Out
In all scenarios, ask your Account Owner or the Board Chair to contact the Support team via in-app live chat or email (support@boardpro.com).
We will verify the request and disable MFA for your account so you can get back in.
🛠️ How to Prevent Lockouts
Switch or Disable MFA before changing devices
Switch or Disable MFA methods before updating your login email account
If you use MFA by Email Verification and don't receive your code, check Spam or Junk folders.
🔁 Switch MFA Methods
You can switch to a different MFA method at any time:
Go to your personal account menu. Select Settings then Login & Security
Click Switch next to the authentication method you want
Follow the setup instructions (same as when Enable MFA)
🗑️ Disable MFA
Go to your personal account menu. Select Settings then Login & Security,
Click Remove next to the enabled method. The “Enabled” label will disappear.
Note : Disabling in BoardPro does NOT remove the entry in your authenticator app—you must delete it manually
