Getting started with an authenticator app for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

This guide is for anyone new to authenticator apps and explains how to install one before enabling MFA in BoardPro.

What is an Authenticator App?

An authenticator app is a mobile application that adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts, including BoardPro. It generates a six-digit, time-based verification code that changes every 30 seconds.

When signing in to BoardPro, you'll enter this code in addition to your password, helping to protect your account from unauthorised access.

Download an Authenticator App

If you already use an authenticator app, such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or Authy, you can use it with BoardPro.

If you don't already have one installed, we recommend Microsoft Authenticator, which is free and available for both Android and iPhone devices.

Note:

Install an authenticator app on your phone before enabling MFA in BoardPro.

Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store.

  2. Search for Microsoft Authenticator.

  3. Install the app.

Apple iPhone

  1. Open the App Store

  2. Search for Microsoft Authenticator.

  3. Install the app.

What next?

Once you have installed an authenticator app:

  1. Set up MFA in BoardPro by scanning the QR code from your Settings.

  2. When signing in, open your authenticator app and enter the current six-digit verification code.
